The eastern part of Belarus, namely the Vitebsk region, is particularly rich (or poor?) In abandoned or destroyed churches. Nikolaev church was built in the late 19th century, the main composition part is taken by a multi-tiered tower with a wooden dome.
This temple, like many others, fell into decay after the Great Patriotic War. The lack of parishioners and means for content played a role. Another interesting feature is the location. Just a few kilometers from the village of Slobodka was the Nativity of the Virgin church, with a very similar history.
