The Republican Center for Olympic Training in Winter Sports “Raubichi” is located about 20 kilometers from Minsk and the “Minsk-2” National Airport in the immediate vicinity of the Minsk-Vitebsk motorway. “Raubichi” sports complex is one of the most popular places of winter recreation in Belarus.
The name “Raubichi” sports complex inherited from a nearby locality. The territory on which the sports complex is located is often called the “Belarusian Switzerland”, because it lies among a unique and unique nature. This is the picturesque hills left by the glaciers, and the transparent waters of the Usage River, and the blue mirror of the Raubichi Reservoir. One of the picturesque hills is crowned by the Krestogorskaya church, in which now there is a museum of folk applied art and a concert hall.
In total, the world and European biathlon champions 1974, 1976, 1982, 1990, 1998, 1999, 2004 and 2015, the world championships in cross-country skiing in 1991, the stages of the European Freestyle Cup in 1995 and 2006 were held at the sports complex. For the holding of the biathlon world championship in 1982 the sports complex “Raubichi” was marked with the golden sign of UIPMB. In 1996, the International Biathlon Union awarded the “Raubichi” sports complex the “A” category, issuing a license for holding top-level competitions without any exceptions.
