On the territory of Belarus, there are surprisingly many beautiful places that help the soul to unfold, and the visitor to learn how people lived when there were no more computers and mobile phones. But even in such abundance the Ethnographic complex “Mlyn”, that in Zaslavl, stands out and surprises.
Wooden buildings – including a mill, which, by the way, are a hundred years old – not only introduce visitors to the complex with the peculiarities of Belarusian culture, but also create a unique atmosphere that is amazing for a resident of a concrete megacity – life and warmth.
The mill has a long and interesting history, which tour guides gladly tell for tourists when they show the interior of the building – three whole floors filled with interesting exhibits! Unfortunately, the steam engine, from which the mill operated, has not been preserved, but the principle of its operation is easy to imagine.
The Forge, where you can see all the tools that used to work with metal before, is a special place, sacral, and, surprisingly, the feeling has survived to this day.
Two more buildings that are part of the complex – this is the house of zavoznik and the barn. The house is a building in which the peasants who came to grind the grain rested, waiting for the flour to be ready. A barn, where previously this grain was stored, now shows guests different capacities, in which it was poured.
Comfort and tranquility fill the soul in this place, where the story is stored in wooden buildings and is in the air. Despite the fact that in general a walk around the complex is unlikely to take more than two hours, the impressions will be the brightest.
