It will not be right to visit Belarus and not visit the Minsk Film Museum, which is an integral part of the system of national museums of culture of the Republic of Belarus.
This incredibly interesting museum was founded in the middle of the last century with the film studio “Belarusfilm”. The museum was formed to search and preserve the documentary base about the domestic film industry, as well as popularize its main achievements. There was also a period of oblivion, when the museum was simply an archival institution, without conducting any exhibitions (1982-88).
In 2002, the renovated museum of the history of Belarusian cinema became again accessible to visitors and tourists. Today this museum is located on the street. Sverdlov, 4, in a 3-storey house, which is an architectural monument of the beginning of the last century. The museum will offer visitors unique collections of documents testifying to the stages of development of Belarusian cinema, interesting fund and personal exhibitions, excerpts from the most popular Belarusian films.
Next to this place is one of the main sights of Minsk – Catholic church of St. Simeon and St. Helena.
